Our Client

Caima was founded in 1888 under the name The Caima Timber Estate & Wood Pulp Company Ltd.

In 1999, it became 100% owned by the Cofina Group, and in 2005 it was integrated into Altri as result of the restructuring of Cofina, through a spin-off of industrial assets.

Caima produces about 115,000 tonnes of soluble pulp per year using eucalyptus. At the same time, the company produces electricity through renewable industrial cogeneration.

The project

In 2014, Caima launched an international tender for the purchase of an Aquatubular Boiler, using natural gas, capable of producing 20,000 kg/h of superheated steam.

Energest submitted a tender on a “turnkey” basis for the full supply of an Aquatubular Energest® Steam Boiler, sized to produce 20 Ton/h, at a pressure of 40 bar (g) and 450ºC, to be installed in Constan .a.

In order to meet the operating requirements, the aquatubular typology was selected, with natural circulation, with a fully refrigerated integral furnace exposed to a reduced thermal load in relation to the volume and EPRS.

The construction was entirely welded and self-supported by a system of collectors and main auxiliary dowmcomers, therefore requiring no support structure and having been shipped from the factory completely assembled.

The boiler enclosure is entirely made up of membrane walls, allowing to achieve total tightness, withtout resorting to the traditional use of refractories and casing, subject to frequent breaks and maintenance problems.
