J. Pereira Fernandes' origins date back to 1933, the year in which João Pereira Fernandes began his weaving activity.
In 1970, it started to cover the entire fabric production process since: spinning, dyeing, weaving, finishing and confection. At that time, it had the African market as its main target. However, with the independence of Guinea, Angola and Mozambique, the market changed and there were several problems with relevance for the transfer of funds, consequently the company needed to look for new markets, which it managed to do successfully by adapting its products.
With the end of the fuel oil cogeneration plants in sight, J. Pereira Fernandes' management entrusted Energest with the new project. The BOP of the first Cogeneration Plant had already been in charge of Energest, in 1992.
For the production of saturated steam using the exhaust gases of an Otto cycle engine, using natural gas, GE JENBACHER, model JMS 624, we designed an Energest® recovery boiler of the gas tubular type. We designed a boiler with a built-in economizer, capable of producing 2300 kg / h of steam at 9 bar (g).
The boiler was designed and built-in accordance with the European Directive 97/23 / EC and its transposition into the National Legislation regarding Pressure Containers, having been issued CE Marking and Declaration of Conformity Energest®.
The construction and certification approval was carried out by an AB (Accredited Body).
Complementary systems and equipment were also part of the contract, of which we highlight:
- Thermal power regulation system, with modulation, integrating a 3-way valve;
- Effluent gas evacuation system;
- Level regulation system, modulating, by controlling the flow rate of the feed pump in service;
- Chemical conditioning system, integrating a variable flow metering pump and a level control reagent dissolution reservoir;
- Steam flow and water flow measurement system;
The project was complemented by a cabinet containing all the electrical equipment for power, protection, command, control and assessment of the operating conditions of the Recovery Boiler and all auxiliary equipment.
The natural gas cogeneration plant started operating at the end of 2011.
